Collectable to offer world’s finest soccer memorabilia through World Football Collection
Collectable has announced an exclusive partnership with World Football Collection, allowing it to offer shares of some of the world’s finest soccer memorabilia.
Beginning in early 2022 and leading up to the World Cup, Collectable, the sports memorabilia investment platform, will offer fractional ownership of items from the World Football Collection that includes match-worn jerseys from such iconic soccer stars as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Pelé and more.
"This historic partnership will bring some of the finest soccer memorabilia assets to our leading fractional ownership platform,” Collectable CEO Ezra Levine said. “With the explosion in both the soccer and game-worn markets, and the hobby's growing international footprint, the partnership continues our mission to source and curate the most iconic, investment-grade sports assets to fans, collectors and investors of all income brackets.”
World Football Collection contains more than 300,000 items and is valued at more than $60 million with historic pieces from all the greatest players in soccer history. The agreement also serves as Collectable’s first international partnership as the company looks to bring its platform to new markets across the globe. Many of the items within the collection will be on display all over the world, providing additional exposure for the memorabilia and the partnership.
“WFC is at the beginning of a massive development project, with teaming up with a fractional ownership provider as a key first step,” says Umberto Paolucci Pierandrei, originator and CEO of WFC. “Among all operators, Collectable won our hearts for their approach to the market, clarity towards their community and the passion they put into choosing and illustrating every piece of memorabilia. This is so important to preserve the soccer heritage that is expressed by our incredible collection.”
“We are witnessing incredible global growth in sports collectibles,” WFC COO Matteo Pella said. “We firmly believe current soccer memorabilia valuations are massively discounted compared to other sports, with soccer’s explosive growth in America and upcoming catalysts in the 2022 and 2026 World Cup — the latter of which will be in the USA. The partnership with Collectable is a win-win-win. The collection has unique, unmatched items. Collectable has the knowledge, platform, and effective strategy. Most importantly, fans and collectors can all now participate in the upside and continued growth of the soccer market.”
Collectable’s partnership with World Football Collection creates an organic alliance at a pivotal time in the continually growing soccer memorabilia market. The agreement comes shortly on the heels of the record purchase of a Pelé rookie card for $900,000, the highest price ever recorded for a soccer card.
Shares of items from the World Soccer Collection will be available for purchase beginning in early 2022. Please see the Collectable app for more information.
