A rare 1938 Babe Ruth Brooklyn Dodgers uniform and a historically significant 1968 Hank Aaron jersey topped the latest baseball memorabilia auction by Christie’s and Hunt Auctions.

The live and online auction, which included the Geddy Lee Collection, totaled more than $6.8 million in sales.

The baseball collection from former rock star Geddy Lee, the lead singer of legendary Canadian band Rush, produced the sale of a single-signed baseball signed by President Herbert Hoover for $214,200 — eight times more than the $25,000 estimate.

“It was a distinct honor to represent such exceptional collections as represented by Geddy Lee, William Gladstone, and others within this Christie’s partnership auction,” Hunt Auctions President David Hunt said. “Iconic collections of this rarity and import are well documented to raise standards for their related mediums. The results within the auction clearly illustrate the vibrant market for historic baseball memorabilia having origins within important private collections.”
