It’s not unusual for a former MLB player to auction off his World Series ring years after his playing career is over.

But not one more than 100 years old.

Lelands has a championship ring from the 1914 World Series in its 2026 Spring Classic Auction.

The 1914 Boston Braves World Championship ring is one of the rarest and most storied early World Series rings in existence. The ring belonged to third baseman Red Smith of the “Miracle” Braves, a team that made MLB history by rallying from last place at midseason to win the pennant and sweep the heavily favored Philadelphia Athletics in the World Series.

Only three 1914 Braves championship rings are known to exist. Each has a unique design as players from the era had their rings custom made instead of issued by the team. Smith’s ring was gifted to a close friend late in his life and is being offered publicly for the first time.

The Lelands auction, which runs through April 18, is also headlined by a newly discovered, unopened 1957-58 Topps Basketball 5-cent wax pack graded PSA 7. The wax pack, one of just five examples in that grade, with only two graded higher, is from one of the most valuable basketball sets in hobby history. It features the 1957 rookie card of Hall of Famer Bill Russell.

Another auction centerpiece is a 1970s game-worn jersey from Boston Bruins legend Bobby Orr from the 1972 playoffs. Orr gifted the jersey to former Bruins coach and GM Harry Sinden.

Other game-worn and game-used items in the auction include:

• Victor Wembanyama’s Spurs game-worn jersey photo-matched to the NBA Emirates Cup game on Dec. 3, 2024.

• 2017 Aaron Judge Yankees game-worn jersey from his record-setting rookie season.

• Johnny Bench Reds jacket from his rookie season.

• Game-used baseball from Shohei Ohtani’s 2024 50/50 season.

• Personal collection of NBA great Rolando Blackman, headlined by his 2011 Dallas Mavericks NBA Championship ring.

• Hall of Fame jockey Calvin Borel’s three Kentucky Derby trophies and the saddle used in each of those victories.

• 1983 John Stallworth Steelers game-worn jersey.

• 1976 Carl Yastrzemski signed Red Sox game-worn jersey.

• 1998 Greg Maddox photo-matched All-Star game-worn signed jersey.

• Dec. 29, 2007 Tom Brady Patriots team-signed presentational game ball from Brady’s record 50 TD passes and the first 16-0 regular season in NFL history.
