Upper Deck, Dynamics ePlate Visa Offering Trading Card Rewards
Forget cash back or points for airline miles. How about sports cards when using a credit card?
Upper Deck has launched the first trading card rewards application for the Dynamics ePlate Visa credit card device. This innovative offering lets consumers earn exclusive Upper Deck Trading Cards with every purchase.
When the Upper Deck Experience is selected, consumers will earn exclusive ePlate digital trading cards for every $10 spent using their Dynamics ePlate Visa card. The digital cards are delivered instantly to a mobile phone after the completed purchase.
When all cards in a set are collected, the consumer will receive an exclusive UD Infinite foil pack. UD Infinite trading cards are only available to ePlate card holders, and will include randomly inserted autographs of sports legends such as LeBron James, Tiger Woods and Joe Namath. Collectors can also trade or buy digital cards to complete their set even faster.
Consumers can sign up for a battery-powered Dynamics ePlate Visa card at dynamicsinc.com/upperdeckcards. The ePlate credit card is subject to a credit approval.
“We’re excited to bring the joy of collecting trading cards to everyday purchases,” said Richard McWilliam, CEO Upper Deck. “The ePlate device allows us to offer virtual cards instantly to our collectors, and the ability to trade with friends to complete sets and earn exclusive, physical cards.”
“The experience of receiving virtual trading cards on your phone just seconds after making a purchase is phenomenal,” said Jeff Mullen, CEO of Dynamics. “Now, collectors can digitally experience the joy of pack ripping anytime and anywhere in the world with a simple ePlate-enabled purchase.”
How it works
Dynamics' ePlate is connected to ecosystem experience providers that each deliver an individualized brand experience, through an experience application to the consumer. The ePlate™ device uses an entirely new kind of technology that stores unique user data on the device’s magnetic strip – making it possible for multiple experience applications to be associated with one card. Prior to point-of-sale, consumers simply select the preferred applications on their smart phone, tablet or computer and then select either of two corresponding buttons on the ePlate device – which light up when selected. A user can change the experience application associated with the buttons on the ePlate device at any time and as many times as they like.
