PSA 9 Hank Aaron Rookie Tops $192K, Smashing Previous High Selling Mark
Mile High Card Co.’s Elite January Auction, with bidding ending Jan. 21, once again rewrote the record books and set new standards for the industry.
Leading the charge was an astounding 1954 Topps #128 Henry Aaron PSA 9 Mint card that had several high-profile collectors battling deep into the night. When the hammer finally dropped, this incredible card changed hands for the sum of $192,547.
“We’re very pleased with the final result of the Hank Aaron rookie card, which was more than three times the amount of the last public sale just over a year ago,” said MHCC President and CEO Brian Drent. “Prices across the board were very strong in this auction, so it appears that the bull market continues to achieve exceptionally strong results.”

The PSA 9 Hank Aaron rookie card wasn’t the only debut of “Hammerin’ Hank” to set a record as a PSA 8 example also moved to the top of the charts with a sale of $28,449. The one and only 1954 NY Journal-American Mickey Mantle PSA 9 Mint fetched an amazing sum of $12,781, and it wouldn’t be an MHCC auction without record setting price for a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle card, with a PSA 2.5 GOOD+ example achieving a price of $21,549.
