2020 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball
Much the same as past releases, Allen & Ginter Baseball features more than just baseball cards with a vintage or tobacco-card feel to them.
Down on the Farm for animals, Digging Deep for treasures in the ground and Reach for the Sky! for famous skyscrapers, Insects, African safaris, Scary Creatures and Giants of the Sea are among the variety of non-baseball-related cards.
But there is plenty of baseball with a 300-card base option with the final 50 cards in the overall 350-card set being short prints. It includes plenty of parallels with most coming in mini versions ranging from 1:65 packs to 50 copies to #/25 to 1/1s.
Inserts include full-size and minis featuring A Debut to Remember, documenting the first game for 30 players; Field Generals for the 20 all-time great catches; and Longball Lore for the heavy hitters.
On-card A&G Framed Mini Autographs includes top names from many fields. Autographed Relic Book cards and Dual cards are two-paneled cards each numbered to only 10 copies. Full-Size Relics and Mini Framed Relics aren’t only of base subjects but items of historical significance. A&G Pin Relics (#/25 or less) display “iconic pins from historic elections and events.” And Rip cards average two per Hobby case.
The hobby configuration is eight cards per pack, 24 packs per box and 12 boxes per case. The Baseball Hobby Box Break is three hits from autographs, booklets, original buybacks or Rip cards. The release was scheduled for Sept. 16.
