In this day and age of numerous auction houses, especially in the sports memorabilia market, it takes something special to stand out above the crowd. For SportsCardLink, the results for its sales of graded cards are the company’s calling card for future consignments.

In sales held in the past eight months, SportsCardLink has sold a 1933 Goudey No. 181 Babe Ruth SGC 8 for $16,388, a 1971 Topps Dave Cowens PSA 10 has sold for $4,485 and a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle SGC 6 has brought $31,349.

According to SportsCardLink, the keys to success are offering low buyer and seller commissions and offering consigners up to $1 million in cash advances.

All of this has led to an impressive lineup for the company’s September sale, which kicks off Sept. 7. As always, all lots start out at $1 with no reserves. The first lot to turn some heads is a complete set of 1906 Fan Craze American League cards (51) with Cy Young, Napoleon Lajoie and Adrian Joss all graded PSA 4. Billy Keeler is graded PSA 5.

A dozen T206 brown Hindu back singles reside in the next portion of the sale, all part of more than 300 T206 cards in the sale that come from the same Florida collection. These will be joined by a 1940 Play Ball Ted Williams (PSA 9), 1941 Double Play Ted Williams and Joe Cronin (PSA 7) and 1948 Leaf Ted Williams (PSA 8).

A variety of 1952 Topps singles is headlined by the highest-graded examples from Cal Abrams (PSA 8) and Dave Koslo (PSA 8). Other 1950s card highlights include a 1952 Berk Ross Ted Williams (PSA 8), 1953 Bowman Gil Coan (highest graded at SGC 9), 1954 Topps Hank Aaron (PSA 3) and 1955 Topps Double Header Ted Williams (highest graded at PSA 8).

More PSA 8s rain down in the form of 1956 Topps Bob Feller, 1956 Topps Roberto Clemente and 1957 Topps Mickey Mantle.

Those looking to upgrade the 1959 Topps set will want the PSA 10 example of Irv Noren, and the Mickey Mantle PSA 8, Sandy Koufax PSA 8, Warren Spahn PSA 8 and N.L. Hitting Kings card with Willie Mays PSA 8 that are also offered in the auction. Selections from this set are capped with a 1959 Topps Roberto Clemente graded PSA 9 and a Russ Meyer single graded PSA 9.

More highest graded examples in this auction include 1960 Topps Bill Mazeroski (SGC 9), 1960 Topps Nellie Fox (SGC 9), 1960 Topps Richie Ashburn (SGC 9), 1960 Topps Whitey Ford (SGC 9), 1961 Topps Dodger Southpaws (PSA 9), 1961 Topps N.L. Strikeout Leaders (SGC 9), 1962 Topps N.L. Strikeout Leaders (PSA 9), 1963 Topps N.L. Strikeout Leaders (PSA 9) and 1964 Topps Ed Kirkpatrick (PSA 10).

Topps singles of Hall of Famers continue right up through 1979, complemented by examples from Topps Stand-Ups, Milk Duds and O-Pee-Chee sets.
