SCP Auctions provided the final numbers for its recently concluded sale: $5.2 million for 995 lots sold. The auction included numerous athlete collections, including Rollie Fingers, Steve Garvey, Bret Saberhagen, John Havlicek, Chris Mullin and George Sisler.

The top two items in the sales were related to Babe Ruth – a 1927 Yankees team photo realized $275,706 and a 1929-30 Ruth game-used bat brought $171, 191 – but even modern players had their day in the sun in this sale.

For instance, Bret Sabergen offered up his 1985 Kansas City Royals championship ring, and the beauty sold for $73,409. His 1985 Cy Young Award brought $38,588, while his 1985 World Series MVP trophy netted $37,610. That was a good year for the pitcher.

Rollie Fingers got into the big-ticket items, too, with his 1973 Oakland A's championship ring bringing $56,501, his 1981 AL MVP award selling for $38,653 and his 1981 Cy Young award also netting $38,653.
