Live From New York: Goldin Auctions Event Takes Place April 30

Babe Ruth’s first Yankees contract, Ruth’s boyhood catcher’s mitt, historic documents, game-used jerseys and high-grade cards will make a splash in the 75-lot main event at the New York Yankees steakhouse.

This Saturday night, on April 30, New York City will be the center of the sports memorabilia world, when Goldin Auctions hosts the 2016 Goldin Auctions April Premium Live Auction at New York Yankees Steakhouse. It offers 75 lots of sports memorabilia, with each lot valued at more than $10,000. Additionally, Goldin Auctions is conducting a corresponding online auction with 1,000 additional lots through May 7 at
www.GoldinAuctions.com.

"We are excited to host a live auction in New York City for the first time ever and especially proud to hold it at New York Yankees Steakhouse." said Ken Goldin, founder of Goldin Auctions. "It is not surprising that the bidding has been frantic over the past month since many of the most sought-after items are from New York area athletes and others are being offered for auctions for the first time. We expect an electric atmosphere on Saturday night."

Some of the highlights of the live auction, which will be simulcast online beginning at 7:00 pm ET at GoldinAuctions.com include: the 1921 contract signed by all MLB owners establishing the Office of Commissioner; Babe Ruth's first Yankees signed playing contract; the only Ruth glove ever authenticated; game-used bats from Ruth, Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Mickey Mantle; a Larry Bird game-used and photo matched jersey from one of his greatest games; a 1952 Mickey Mantle PSA 7 and much more.

Lot #43 - 1922 Babe Ruth New York Yankees Contract – His First Ever Yankee Signed Contract Covering First Yankees World Championship 1923 (PSA/DNA) – Current Bid ($310,000) - This contract is the first official document signed between Ruth and the Yankees. This is a museum quality artifact, the perfect highlight for the high end Yankee or Ruth collection. It also includes full LOA from PSA/DNA.

Lot #29 - Babe Ruth Circa 1912 St. Mary's era Used Right Handed Catcher's Mitt from Babe Ruth Museum - Current Bid ($155,000) -This surviving Babe Ruth used glove is one used by the Babe during his formative years behind the walls of St. Mary's Industrial School for Boys and the only authenticated Ruth glove. To add to the mystique, the glove was actually a right-handed catcher's glove, which the southpaw used before becoming a pitcher. Includes LOA's from PSA/DNA, MEARS, Babe Ruth Museum, and Family Provenance.

Lot #19 - 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle Rookie Card PSA NM7 – Current Bid ($72,000)

Lot #37 - 1955 Ted Williams Game Used Boston Red Sox Road Jersey - Mears A-9 – With Matching Pants - Incredible Detailed Provenance - Current Bid ($60,000) - This impeccable jersey, with an extremely strong chain of provenance, was previously sold at the Ted Williams auction comes with MEARS LOA and official authentication worksheet.

Lot #18 -1909-11 T-206 White Border Eddie Plank Trading Card PSA VG-EX 4 – Current Bid ($57,000) - There are just 75 of these cards in existence and just 12 with a grade this high.

Lot #9 - 1997-1998 Michael Jordan Photo Matched Game Used and Signed Bulls Road Jersey (3/17/98) (MeiGray/UDA) Sixth NBA Championship Season - Current Bid ($48,000)

Lot #41 - Historic 1921 Document Establishing MLB's "Office of Commissioner" signed by all of the owners and both league Presidents -18 Signatures (PSA/DNA) - Current Bid ($34,000) – Presented here is the actual legal agreement that established the office of Commissioner in Major League Baseball. It also has a LOA from PSA/DNA (Cert. #AA05657).

Lot #13 - High Grade 1939 Lou Gehrig Single Signed A.L. Baseball - Near Mint 7 Signature (Curent Bid: $29,000)

Lot #27 - 1927 Babe Ruth Pocket Watch (Presented September 1927) (Babe Ruth Museum LOA, Additional LOA) - Current Bid ($20,000) - A one-of-a-kind tribute that beautifully illustrates a city's pride in their favorite son who made good. It comes with a letter from the Babe Ruth Museum as well as a letter from the individual who obtained it from the Binau family.

Lot#15 - 1943 Homestead Grays Negro League Autographed Ball - Current Bid ($19,000) - Very rare item from the greatest team in Negro League history that features 16 signatures including Hall of Famers Josh Gibson, Buck Leonard and Cool Papa Bell. LOA from PSA/DNA.

Lot #32 - 1998 New York Yankees World Series Championship Player's Ring - David Cone (PSA/DNA) - Current Bid ($19,000)

Lot #47 - Historic Larry Bird Photo-Matched/Video-Matched Game Used Jersey from May 22, 1988 Playoffs Game 7 - Current Bid ($18,000) - In a game Bird once called this his greatest performance ever, Larry Legend locked horns with Dominique Wilkins, scoring 20 fourth quarter points in the classic game seven showdown won by the Celtics. This size 46+3 Sand Knit jersey, which originated from the collection of a Celtics executive, has been video-matched to two DVDs made by the NBA and comes with a video-match certification by NBA authenticators and THE MEIGRAY GROUP.

Lot #24 - 1986 Gary Carter Personally Owned NY Mets World Series Trophy (Gary Carter LOA) - Current Bid ($17,000) - The perennial All-Star catcher turned the Mets into instant contenders in the N.L East. This trophy comes with a letter from Mr. Carter attesting to its authenticity.
