Legacy Sports Rarities will host its inaugural catalog auction next March. The “Classic 19th and 20th Century Sports Rarities” sale will begin March 7 and end March 28 at www.legacyrarities.com.

Legacy Sports Rarities was founded in 2002 by veteran dealer Greg Bussineau. He founded Superior Sportscard in 1982 and Superior Sports Auctions in 1996. Superior Sports Auctions was purchased by Collectors Universe in 1999, and Bussineau agreed to stay on and run the company for three years. Once that agreement expired, Bussineau decided to go back into business for himself and formed Legacy Sports Rarities, selling a variety of vintage cards. Now he returns to the auction market with this event.

Highlights include several high-grade Old Judge Hall-of-Famers, a large group of high-grade T205s and T206s, numerous high-grade T202s, a 1915 Cracker Jack of Walter Johnson, a rare 1921 E220 of Babe Ruth in PSA 5, the finest-known SGC graded MINT 96 1933 Sport Kings Babe Ruth,a 1937 O-Pee-Chee of Joe DiMaggio in PSA 7, 1940 Play Balls of Ted Williams in SGC 92 and Joe Jackson in SGC 88, a PSA MINT 9 1949 Bowman Roy Campanella rookie card and a high-end PSA 7 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie card.

The consignment deadline for the auction is Dec. 23. Free catalogs are available by calling the company at (231) 922-8037, or at www.legacyrarities.com.
