Even though the scarcity of the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle can’t really be called scarce, when one pops up at auction, it demands attention.

One such example is attracting attention right now in the current Clean Sweep auction, which runs through Jan. 28. Bidding is currently approaching $10,000 for a PSA 2 example.

Not far behind is a Christy Mathewson signed check, dated to 1922. A great signature adorns the bottom of the PSA/DNA-slabbed check, and bidding is past $7,000.

More Hall of Famers are present, with a 1916 M101-5 #86 Joe Jackson SGC 5 and Jimmie Foxx single-signed baseball leading the list. You’ll also find a Pete Rose game-used glove from 1970, a 1933 N.Y. Yankees team-signed ball with Babe Ruth on the sweet spot and a 1909 T206 #94 Cobb (portrait, green background) SGC 5.

Another big ticket item is a 1981 New York Yankees World Series ring in its original box. The ring was issued to Yankee bullpen coach Dom Scala and has been in his possession until now.

It’s all in the cards
Clean Sweep always presents a nice accumulation of cards in its sale, and this auction is no different.
