Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback in NFL history, threw more than 12,000 passes in his illustrious career.

Only 212 of them were picked off.

He completed 7,753, or 64.3 percent, of his passes and tossed 649 for touchdowns. But less than 2 percent were intercepted.

But Brady, the GOAT, got fleeced all the time trading cards while growing up in San Mateo, Calif.

Brady was a big baseball card collectors as a kid. He went to the same high school as Barry Bonds, so most kids his age pulled for Bonds and the Giants. If Brady got acceptable grades in school, his mom would take him to the local “Who’s On Second” card shop to buy a new pack of cards.

Brady placed cards of his favorite players in his baseball card binder, with favorites like Roger Clemens, Darryl Strawberry, Eric Davis and Tim Raines displayed near at the front.

“If you made it to this book, you were one of my all-time favorite players,” Brady said.

Brady loved trading cards with his friends, but, just like in football, he had to watch out for the bigger, stronger and older boys.

“I had a lot of kids in our neighborhood and we all played in the streets and the yard … and all the guys who were kinda my idols in the neighborhood were all older boys than me and we would trade cards all the time, and all the boys in the neighborhood … You fleeced me all the time!” Brady said. “We would all trade cards and they were like, ‘Give me that Darryl Strawberry rookie card and I’ll give you 10 of these other ones.’” And of course I thought it was a good deal, but I don’t think it worked out all the time.”

Brady showed off his card binder and his favorite cards on the first episode of “Card Shopping,” a new TV show that gives sports fans and collectors an inside look at the world of trading cards with some of the biggest names in sports and entertainment. Brady is featured on the first episode of the show, a collaboration between card company Fanatics and Complex.

Patterned after Complex’s hit show, “Sneaker Shopping,” “Card Shopping” takes viewers inside hobby shops across the country, where host Joe La Puma talks with athletes and celebrities to explore their personal journeys into card collecting. As they hunt for their grail cards and share stories about their prized collections, “Card Shopping” provides an inside look at the passion, nostalgia, and thrill of today’s card culture and hobby.

The first episode premieres Monday, May 12 at 10 a.m. EST on Complex.com, Complex YouTube, and on Instagram at @Complex and @Fanatics

Complex’s award-winning “Sneaker Shopping” series helped revolutionize the conversation around sneakers and online shopping, highlighting the culture and nostalgia of sneaker buying and collecting. Complex plans to bring the same format and look to card collecting.

In the premiere episode, Brady goes card shopping with La Puma at the CardVault by Tom Brady shop in East Rutherford, N.J. Brady shares his lifelong passion for card collecting, reflects on some of his highlights on the gridiron, and tracks down a grail card of one of his favorite current athletes.
