Upper Deck NHL Series One to get new look, more key cards
For the first time in more than 20 years, Upper Deck’s flagship Series One hockey set will get a refresh, including more cards, more parallels and more inserts.
The longstanding hobby configuration of eight cards per pack and 24 packs per box will now feature 12 cards per pack and 12 packs per box.
The 2023-24 Upper Deck Series One set will feature an increased number of inserts per pack and an expanded base set parallel lineup (three inserts per hobby pack on average). Some key aspects will remain the same, including the coveted Young Guns card count at an average of six per box, as well as the UD Canvas cards at an average of four per box.

The Upper Deck Series One refresh also will offer:
• Three inserts per pack, on average (formerly one insert per pack).
• Four new base set parallels (including Young Guns), three which are serial numbered (includes a new 1-of-1 parallel).
• Six Young Guns cards per box, on average and four UD Canvas cards per box on average.
The four new base set parallel inserts include: Outburst Silver; Deluxe (numbered to 250); Outburst Red (numbered to 25); and Outburst Gold (1-of-1).

The Outburst Gold will be the first-ever 1-of-1 Young Guns card that collectors can find within the flagship product.
This refresh will eventually be applied to the entire Upper Deck Series product line, which includes Upper Deck Series One, Two and Extended.
Series One will continue to deliver ever-popular inserts like Honor Roll and Dazzlers, while introducing brand-new insert sets.
