One of only two cards of Hall of Famer Buck Ewing from the 1888 Allen & Ginter (N29) set ever to be awarded a PSA 9 (<int) grade leads off the latest I Own it Now catalog at Memory Lane.
The Ewing card is one of numerous high-grade and/or scarce cards that will be offered for sale beginning Friday, March 4. An alternative to the auction format, I Own It Now allows potential buyers to either purchase an item at the listed price or wait until Monday, March 7 to make an offer to the consignor.
Vintage Babe Ruth cards remain among the hobby’s hottest and will be well represented in the catalog with a rare 1916 Weil Baking Co. (D329) rookie card graded EX 5, a 1933 Goudey Ruth #53 rated 7.5 and a 1933 Sport Kings graded PSA 8.
Additional prewar offerings will include two important cards from the 1910 E98 set: a Ty Cobb rated PSA 9 and a Honus Wagner (red) graded 8. There is also a 1939 Play Ball Ted Williams rookie card graded PSA 8, a 1941 Double Play Williams grade PSA 9, a 1935 Diamond Stars #1 Lefty Grove graded 8 and a pair of stars from the 1932 U.S. Caramel set: a PSA 9 Bobby Jones and a PSA 8 Cobb.
Mickey Mantle cards and other vintage star and rookie cards from the 1950s have been generating huge interest in the market for many months and the catalog will include a PSA 9 copy of Mantle’s classic 1957 Topps card as well as a rare NM 7 from the 1959 Home Run Derby set.
A 1952 Topps Willie Mays graded PSA 8 (NM/MT) will be in the sale along with a PSA 7 1951 Bowman Mays rookie card, a 1953 Topps Jackie Robinson graded PSA 8 and a 1966 Topps Venezuelan Roberto Clemente rated 6.
