Maryland Man Charged with Selling Counterfeits

Joshua Shores, 41, of Bel Air, Md., has been charged with wire fraud in conjunction with dealing in counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia in federal court in Pennsylvania.

Joshua Shores, 41, of Bel Air, Md., has been charged with wire fraud in conjunction with dealing in counterfeit and fraudulent sports memorabilia in federal court in Pennsylvania.

According to prosecutors, Shores owned and operated Internet businesses to traffic mostly counterfeit sports jerseys. Shores would buy in bulk from China and put fake signatures on them. Businesses associated with Shores included Dealakhan, Stadium Authentics, Autograph Showcase, Sunset Beach, End Game Sports and Authenticgraph.

The fraudulent activities added up to $2.5 million.
