Collectors.com Launches, Bringing 9 Million Collectibles For Sale in One Place

Imagine the convenience of finding every trading card, autograph or other collectible item you want that is currently available for sale online, all in one place. That place now is Collectors.com, a new, one-stop website that instantly provides information on the availability of more than 9 million collectibles currently offered for sale.

“This is a fantastic new, easy-to-use tool to find virtually every online listing for collectible items you’re seeking. You no longer have to endure time-consuming and scattered hunts on multiple websites,” explained David Hall, founder and president of Collectors Universe Inc.

On its Aug. 27 launch, Collectors.com was gathering information about collectibles for sale from more than 542 websites involving a total of 53,684 sellers. These sellers and sites combined for a total of 9,241,446 collectibles with an incredible aggregate value of $1,015,588,542.

Collectors.com launched with aggregated collectibles listings for rare coins, paper money, trading cards, autographs and stamps. The site plans on expanding to dozens of other popular collectibles categories with future roll-outs.

Collectors.com was created because of the frustration collectors often face at having to individually visit and search through dozens of websites, one-at-a-time, to find collectibles.

Don Willis, president of the Professional Coin Grading Service division of Collectors Universe, explained the website’s origins: “Everyone collects something. As an avid collector, I used to spend hours every week searching websites and marketplaces for items I was collecting. I tried using traditional search tools but they returned volumes of disorganized results that were not helpful in finding what I was searching for. My searches were time consuming and typically ended in frustration. The need for a collectibles aggregator was obvious.”
