Topps Baseball Shortprints and Wrapper Redemption Programs Announced

Pujols, Reyes shortprints, plus a special “gold” wrapper redemption program announced for Topps Baseball Series 1. The product hits shelves Feb. 1.

Topps is gearing up for its Series 1 Baseball product set to release Feb. 1 by offering a snippet of what's in the set each for nine days leading up to the release.

In the first announcement made yesterday (Jan. 23), Topps announced that the Albert Pujols card (No. 331) will be in limited quantities of the star in his new Angels uniform. Reyes (card No. 332) will also be featured in his Marlins uniform in limited quantities. Both will appear in full quantities with their new teams in Series 2.

In today's announcement (Jan, 24), Topps is continuing to play off the gold theme in 2012 with a special wrapper redemption program. Collectors sending in 50 hobby wrappers (or 14 HTA Jumbo wrappers) of 2012 Topps Baseball will receive a five-card cello pack of exclusive Gold Rush cards. There are 50 cards to collect in all. In addition, bonus autographed cards have been randomly inserted into packs and feature the likes of Willie Mays, Adrian Gonzalez, Sandy Koufax, Nelson Cruz, Albert Pujols, Albert Belle and Dennis Eckersley, just to name a few.

Those wishing to participate in the redemption offer have until Feb. 29 to get them in the mail.

There are 10 Gold Tickets randomly inserted into HOBBY boxes of Topp Baseball Series 1. Each ticket is good for a gold-Infused official Major League Baseball autographed by three of the game’s greatest home run hitters: Hank Aaron, Willie Mays and Ken Griffey, Jr.
