NFL Player of the Day Winner to Spend Quality Time with Antonio Brown
Aaron Kellington, an avid trading card collector from the Pittsburgh suburb of Oakdale, Pa., turned one lucky pack of officially licensed Panini NFL trading cards into one fantastic grand prize in the 2013 Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion – the chance to "spend a day" with Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown on April, 27.
Brown will attend a private party at the Kellington home to share stories of his career, toss around a football with the neighborhood kids, sign autographs and pose for photos with all of the party guests. Following the party, they will take a limousine ride to Kellington's favorite local hobby shop, Sportscards Etc (Robinson Township, 5629-B Stevensville Pike, McKees Rocks, Pa.). There, the entire community will join in as winners when the Steelers star spends an hour signing free autographs and posing for photos. While Brown signs autographs for the rest of the community, Kellington will enjoy a $250 shopping spree for Panini products at the shop.
Fans and collectors can follow the event on Sunday via social media on Twitter @PaninPOD (#nflpod).
"As a Steelers fan and big collectors, this is an exciting opportunity for me and my kids to meet one of the top Steelers player up close and person," said Kellington. "I think it's fantastic that Panini gives back to its customers with these types of unique experiences."
"The Panini NFL Player of the Day has been the hobby's favorite promotion for more than a decade because it helps hobby shops sell more Panini NFL trading cards and rewards loyal collectors," said Jason Howarth, vice president of marketing for Panini. "Making card collectors' dreams come true is what we do at Panini, so we're excited to host this special day for Aaron, his family, friends and all of the loyal customers of Sportscards Etc."
At least 200 fans will receive a free autograph from Brown at the event. Collectors can "reserve" a spot at the front of the line in advance by visiting Sportscards Etc. before the event. All other autographs will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis. For details, call (412) 787-3235.
"I am thrilled to share this opportunity with Aaron, his friends and family as well as our loyal customers who will truly enjoy this memorable experience," said Dave Pfaff owner of Sportscards Etc. "The Panini NFL Player of the Day promotion has been a favorite of our customers for over a decade and although we've awarded thousands of prizes it's great for one of our customers to finally be the grand prize winner."
Kellington was among more than 150,000 NFL card collectors who participated in the 2013 Panini NFL Player of the Day contest at more than 800 hobby shops nationwide this fall. He is among the thousands who earned prizes, but as the Grand Prize winner, he is the only one spending the day with an NFL player. His journey began when he uncovered the designated Panini NFL Player of the Day from a pack of cards he purchased at Sportscards Etc. He was then randomly selected a grand prize winner at the store and entered into the national sweepstakes with 800 other winners.
