Wright image and Gypsy Queen highlight latest 19th

The record sale of a tintype image of Harry Wright “The Father of Professional Baseball” graded GAI authentic, which sold for $7,475 and an 1887 N175 Gypsy Queen of Tim Keefe PSA 3, which sold for $2,952 headlined the July 19thCenturyOnly.com auction.

There was a selection of 37 graded Old Judge cards that sold for $11,398. Some other highlights include an 1887 N172 Old Judge of Big Sam Thompson GAI 4 which sold for $1,113, a tough high-grade 1887 N172 Old Judge Jimmy Williams (Manager) GAI 7, which sold for $1,032, and a 1888 N29 Allen & Ginter Buck Ewing GAI 3, which sold for $1,263.

 Early 20th-century items included an enormous selection of more than 80 lots of graded caramel cards. Highlights included: a 1909 E90-1 American Caramel Honus Wagner PSA 3 ($1,148); 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel 13-of-25 (52 percent of the set), which sold for $1,252; a 1910 E93 Standard Caramel Honus Wagner PSA 4 ($1,973); a 1916 E135 Collins McCarthy Honus Wagner PSA 5 ($1,725); 1916 E135 Collins McCarthy Ty Cobb PSA 4 sold for $1,683, 1903 E107 Breisch Williams (Type 1) Bill Dinneen GAI 1 sold for $671, 1908 E102 Set of 25 Joe Tinker PSA 4 sold for $676, 1909 E90-1 American Caramel Collection of six Graded Rarities sold for $1,518.

Also: a 1909 E90-1 American Caramel Ty Cobb GAI 2 sold for $648, 1909 E92 Dockman & Sons Honus Wagner PSA 1 sold for $611, 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Christy Matthewson SGC 40 sold for $611, 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Honus Wagner GAI 1.5 sold for $1,044, 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel Johnny Evers GAI 4.5 sold for $589, 1910 E103 Williams Caramels George McQuillan SGC 40 sold for $203, 1910 E90-2 American Caramel Ham Hyatt SGC 50 sold for $462, 1910 E93 Standard Caramel 13/25 (52 percent of the set) sold for $1,603, and 1910 E93 Standard Caramel Ty Cobb GAI 2.5 sold for $695. One of the highlight cards was a 1910 E93 Standard Caramel Red Ames (unusual ghost image) SGC 40 which sold for $842.

 19thCenturyOnly had four rare blank-back ghost image T206 cards which sold for a total of $3,233.

 Other 20th century rarities included a 1911 D359 Williams Baking Topsy Hartsel GAI 1.5 which sold for $611, 1911 E94 George Close Candy Hugh Jennings PSA 6 which sold for $832, 1911 E100 Bishop (Type 1) Patterson GAI 2 which sold for $280, 1911 T216 Mino Sam Crawford SGC 20 which sold for $611, 1911 T216 Virginia Extra Davis SGC 10 which sold for $287, 1914 T216 Kotton Eddie Plank SGC 20 which sold for $379, 1914 T213 Coupon Ty Cobb Type 1 (portrait) GAI 2 which sold for $1,035, 1921 Zeenut Scott (with coupon) GAI 3 sold for $381, 1910-12 P2 Pin Sweet Caporal Ty Cobb (small letters) GAI 8 sold for $948, and a 1910 M116 Sporting Life Ty Cobb (NM+) SGC 86 sold for $2,643.

 There was also a nice selection of autographs authenticated by GAI. Highlights including a multisigned cachet with 13 signatures including Honus Wagner and Joe DiMaggio which sold for $895, 1933 Goudey No. 207 Mel Ott Autographed Card GAI Certified sold for $611, 1939 Playball 24 Autographed Cards Incl. Hubbell and Vaughan sold for $2,187, and 1969 World Series Shea Stadium autographed full ticket collection of four (Seaver, Ryan) sold for $595.

 There were nearly 60 lots of 20th-century gum cards. Highlights include 1933 Goudey No. 240 Harold Schumacher GAI 8 (last card in the set) which sold for $1,150, 1958 Topps No. 1 Ted Williams GAI 8.5 sold for $2,403, 1933 Goudey No. 149 Babe Ruth GAI 3.5 sold for $1,515, 1948 Leaf Football lot of 8 PSA cards sold for $506, 1952 Topps No. 311 Mickey Mantle GAI 1 sold for $2,020, 1953 Bowman B&W No. 39 Casey Stengel GAI 7.5 sold for $747, 1953 Topps No. 228 Hal Newhouser GAI 8.5 sold for $740, 1954 Bowman No. 65 Mickey Mantle GAI 7.5 sold for $1,377, and a 1954 Bowman No. 66 Ted Williams GAI 7.5 sold for $2,783.
