Scarce figurals showcased in latest ITPC sale

With a heavy emphasis on display-type items and its usual array of rare figures, Inside the Park Collectibles kicks off its expanded 2007 schedule with a 100-lot sports memorabilia auction that concludes on Jan. 19.

"This auction will be the first of a planned eight auctions for us this year," said co-partner John Trincellito. "Up until this year, we averaged three-four auctions a year. Our plan is to do four major auctions and four smaller auctions in between. We have a large inventory and with our increasing consignments, we feel it is a good opportunity to expand our business."
 The auction kicks off with nearly 50 vintage bobbing heads from the 1960s.

"Over the last year or so, we have bought several large collections of vintage bobbing heads. Including this auction, we will be featuring many of the harder-to-find dolls in our auctions" said Trincellito.

Other auction highlights include two variations of the Mickey Mantle doll, a Black Face New York Mets, a number of baseball dolls from the mini series and a large selection of football, hockey, basketball and non-sport bobbing heads.

 The auction continues with a number of pieces from ITPC's incredible "Gibbs-Conner" Find. It includes several porcelain NFL banks as well as several lots of MLB mascot ashtrays; more details about the Gibb-Conner Find will be included in Lou Criscione'sGo Figure column in next week's issue of Sports Coilectors Digest (Feb. 2).

"Our customers will be very surprised and excited over some of the Gibbs-Conner pieces we will feature in upcoming auctions," he said.
There will also be a selection of '60s Fred Kail NFL statues and college mascot banks and decanters.

Although ITPC primarily deals with figural items, this auction will also feature pennants, baseball hat banks and a Bob Feller pencil case.

"We are trying to branch out a little more and have been purchasing some very interesting non-figural items that we think will be well received by our customer base," said Trincellito. "It should be a very eventful year for us."
