Mastro June sale features more from Carter Collect
Mastro Auctions is all set with another edition of its Internet-only Classic Collector Auction. More than 1,800 lots will be featured, including highlights such as a 1952 Bowman Baseball complete set, Dizzy Dean single-signed ball, Willie McCovey game-used bat and more relics from the famed Lionel Carter Collection. The auction, which can be viewed at mastroauctions.com, is now live and will conclude June 20 and 21.
According to Doug Allen, president of Mastro Auctions, the Classic Collector events are experiencing expansion into markets outside the sports collecting arena. Featured non-sports items in the current auction include a Laurel and Hardy signed photo; Ronald Reagan signed photo; 1963-75 X-Men near-complete run of early issues #2-#93 and a 1963 Beatles Gaumont Christmas Show ticket stub.
"Originally our Classic Collector auctions were very much a sports-oriented offering," said Allen. "But they now seem to be following suit with our Premier auctions by attracting increasingly diverse items, especially in the comics market and other Americana collecting genres."
