With football taking center stage at this time of year it was no surprise that football-related lots were the driving force in the December BricolSportsAuction.com auction. Everything from game-used football jerseys, to game-used helmets, to a salesman's sample Super Bowl trophy, the bidding was strong and heavy for football items.
Leading the way was a LaDainian Tomlinson signed San Diego Chargers 2003 game-used road jersey, which sold for $2,662. Not far behind was the San Francisco 49ers Super Bowl XXIX Vince Lombardi team salesman's sample trophy selling for $2,600.
Three game-used helmets were next in line, with the first one being a Drew Brees helmet that was used during the 2004 San Diego Chargers season. The helmet received 27 bids and sold for $1,565. A 1966-67 George Mira San Francisco 49ers game-used Riddell suspension helmet sold for $1,500, while a Philadelphia Eagles 1961-66 game-used Riddell suspension helmet sold for $1,429.
