There is no denying that autographed baseballs are a staple in the sports collectibles hobby. This fact isn’t lost on Collect Auctions, whose current auction is loaded with signed baseballs from a variety of past major league greats.

Not surprisingly, Babe Ruth signed baseballs lead the way. First up is a Ruth single-signed Spalding home run special baseball that is graded PSA/DNA 6.5. The baseball was signed on the sweet spot with a steel-tip fountain pen. The autograph does show slight fading.

Other Ruth signed baseballs include: a Ruth single-signed OAL Harridge baseball that is graded PSA/DNA 5, 1934 New York Yankees team-signed OAL Harridge baseball with Ruth and Gehrig signatures (other Hall of Famers who signed the baseball include Bill Dickey, Lefty Gomez, Red Ruffing, Tony Lazzeri, and Burleigh Grimes), and a Ruth single-signed Sterling American League baseball.

Signed baseballs from other players, include but is not limited to: Roger Maris single-signed Wilson baseball, Roberto Clemente single-signed ONL Feeney baseball, Thurman Munson single-signed MacGregor baseball, Dizzy Dean single-signed Playmaker baseball, and Albert Pujols game-used and signed 2011 World Series baseball with “3 HR Game 3” inscription.

Collectors have come to expect a plethora of unopened sports trading card products in each Collect Auctions sale, and this auction is no exception. Leading the way is a 1972 Topps Baseball 1st Series wax box.

Other unopened products that are featured in the auction include: 1976 Topps Baseball vending box, 1972 Topps Football 2nd Series wax box, 1977 Topps Baseball vending box, 1973 Topps Football vending box, 1972-73 Topps Basketball wax box, 1975 Topps Football cello box, 1971 Topps Football 1st Series vending box, 1987-88 Fleer Basketball wax box, 1977-78 Topps Hockey wax box in 76-77 wrappers, 1973-74 Topps Basketball vending box, 1974-75 Topps Basketball vending box, and 1988-89 Fleer Basketball wax box.

Autographed sports cards also hold a prominent place in the auction. Leading the way is a 1990-99 ultimate baseball card pack-pulled collection. The collection has 1,902 autographs, including players Mickey Mantle, Ted Williams, Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey Jr., Joe DiMaggio, Hank Aaron, and Willie Mays. The entire collection of cards was assembled by one collector.

Not far behind is a group of autographed baseball cards featuring superstars and Hall of Famers. A total of 155 cards are included in the lot, including: Al Kaline, Frank Robinson, Fred Lynn, Bucky Dent, J.R. Richard, Tim Raines, Jim Rice, Reggie Jackson, Gaylord Perry, Alan Trammell, Carl Yastrzemski, Dennis Eckersley, John Smoltz, Ryne Sandberg, Nolan Ryan, and Paul Molitor, just to name a few.

Basketball autograph collectors aren’t left in the cold, as a 1969-70 Topps Basketball “Tall Boys” near set is available. Thirty-two of the cards are autographed.

The auction is currently open for bidding, with bidding ending March 21.
