1967 Red Sox reuniting for June 1-3 show
Tickets to Red Sox games are the hardest tickets to obtain in the 2007 Boston sports scene. Fans line up for hours before games at Fenway Park just to have an opportunity to purchase bleacher or standing room only tickets, but it wasn't always this way.
More than 40 years ago, Red Sox tickets were easily purchased at discount rates and fans could wait until moments before the games to purchase some of the best seats at Fenway.
The 1967 Red Sox changed all this, as the team climbed from ninth place in 1966 to win the American League pennant on the last day of the 1967 season and made baseball the premiere sport in Boston.
Dick Gordon, in association with Mike Riccio, know the impact that the 1967 Impossible Dream team had on the Boston sports fans and have brought back 23 members of the club to celebrate the 40th anniversary of that team's Red Sox race to the championship.
The reunion show will be held from June 1-3 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Conn. The show will run from 5-9 p.m. with free admission on Friday, June 1.
There will be an $8 admission fee for both Saturday and Sunday. Show hours for Saturday will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Sunday's hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Children will be admitted free all three days.
On Saturday, Dick Williams, Jose Santiago, Reggie Smith, Dennis Bennett and Bill Landis will sign autographs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while Billy Rohr, Jose Tartabull, Dan Osinski, Dalton Jones and Dave Morehead will man the signing area from 1-3 p.m.
Carl Yastrzemski will sign autographs on Saturday from 12-2 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dick Williams, George Thomas, Gary Bell, Mike Ryan, Norm Siebern and Lee Stange will join Yaz on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with Rico Petrocelli, Darrell Brandon, Jerry Moses and Russ Gibson following them on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
Ryan and Siebern have become tough autographs for many Red Sox collectors, as they haven't appeared at a public signing in many years.
Gordon and Riccio are offering a Superticket good for one signature of each autograph guest on flat items only for $500. Individual autograph guest pricing and other show information can be found at www.dickgordonsports.com or www.scdshows.com and via e-mail at mlriccio@aol.com or at 1-888-808-8861.
