1952 Topps cards, T206 vintage gems headline February Auction at REA
The classic 1952 Topps Baseball set is one of the most iconic card sets in the hobby. Topps is celebrating its very first baseball set this year with 2026 Topps Series 1 featuring a 1952 design and a rare example of the historic 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card.
The 1952 Mantle card is one of the most coveted in the hobby, with examples ranging from $40,000-$50,000 to a record $12.6 million.
REA’s February Auction features a 1952 Topps #311 Mickey Mantle SGC POOR 1, as well as a 1952 Topps #392 Hoyt Wilhelm Rookie High Number SGC MINT 9, with none graded higher by SGC.

The auction, which runs through Feb. 22, features a strong collection of vintage cards, including a break-up of a graded 521-card T206 White Border set offered individually and highlighted by PSA VG 3 and EX 5 examples of Ty Cobb’s iconic green and red portrait cards, as well as countless other Hall of Famers.
Other key rookie cards, include a T206 White Border Tris Speaker Rookie PSA NM 7; 1948-1949 Leaf #4 Stan Musial Rookie PSA NM 7; and a 1963 Topps #537 Pete Rose Rookie PSA EX-MT 6.
Key basketball cards include a 1984-1985 Star Company Basketball #195 Michael Jordan "1984 Gold Medalist" BGS EX-MT+ 6.5.

Additionally, five Hall of Famers from the rare 1921 Herpolsheimer’s Clothing set are available, led by a PSA EX-MT 6 Tris Speaker, one of only two examples graded at that level. The other four (each of graded PSA 5) include John McGraw, Johnny Evers, Dave Bancroft, and Ray Schalk.
