NBA rookie Victor Wembanyama meets collectors at special Fanatics, Topps event

Topps collectors who redeemed a 2022-23 Bowman U Chrome Victor Wembanyama Green Parallel Auto redemption card got a special treat on Sept. 23 when they got a chance to meet the NBA No. 1 draft pick.

Wembanyama, the 7-4 center from France, was selected first overall by the San Antonio Spurs and is considered a generational talent and the NBA’s next big star.

Fanatics Collectibles and Topps hosted Wemby collectors for a unique fan experience in San Antonio. Eligible collectors who previously redeemed the Bowman U Chrome Green Parallel redemption card on or before Sept. 8 had the opportunity to join Wembanyama in person for a chance to win their first-ever signed trading card, which was inscribed with “1st card I ever signed.”

The exclusive event included a live interview with Wembanyama and a special meet-and-greet with Topps Auto redemption card holders.

Fans who were not able to participate in person were still able to join the event on Fanatics Live, Fanatics’ new live-streaming platform.

The event marked the first of its kind for Fanatics Collectibles as the company looks to bring collectors closer to their favorite athletes through unique fan experiences.
