Michael Jordan jersey sells for $3 million in Dream Team auction
Michael Jordan’s jersey from the 1992 Olympics sold for just over $3 million Wednesday in Goldin’s Dream Team auction.
The signed, game-worn jersey from teammate Karl Malone’s Dream Team collection sold for $3,030,000 on 40 bids. The jersey is the second most expensive Jordan item ever sold at auction.
Malone’s entire Dream Team collection of game-used jerseys and shoes from the 1992 U.S. Olympic team brought a total of more than $5.3 million.
Jordan’s signed, game-used Nike Air Jordan sneakers from sold for $420,000.
Other top sellers from the Malone collection included game-worn, signed jerseys from Larry Bird ($360,000), Magic Johnson ($336,000), Charles Barkley ($230,400) and David Robinson ($116,400).
Bird’s game-used sneakers sold for $91,200, while game-used kicks from Barkley, Johnson, Scottie Pippen, Malone and the rest all brought five figures.
Malone’s own game-used jersey sold for $58,800, while his sneakers sold for $43,200.
