Fanatics Collect and grading-card company CGC Cards have formed a partnership that the two companies say will produce the fastest grading turnaround times in the hobby.

Through the partnership, CGC Cards is establishing a full-time authentication and grading operation on-site at Fanatics Collect’s Tigard, Ore. facility, which will allow collectors to have their cards authenticated and graded through CGC Cards, and then immediately sell or store them in the Fanatics Collect Vault.

CGC Cards, owned by the Certified Collectibles Group, is one of the hobby’s fastest-growing card grading companies, with more than six million TCG, sports and non-sports cards certified since July 2020.

Fanatics Collect is Fanatic’s new collectibles marketplace that connects buyers and sellers through fixed-price and auction listings. Fanatics Collect also has partnerships with grading companies PSA, SGC, which is owned by PSA, and Beckett.

Starting Sept. 16, the CGC service will be available to Fanatics Collect users who submit raw cards for grading and sale in a Weekly or Premier Auction, or the Buy Now marketplace or vaulting. As an authentication and grading partner, CGC Cards will offer Fanatics Collect users preferred pricing of $9 per card, regardless of fair market value.

The two companies also plan to launch an authentication-only service, which provides expert review and verification of card authenticity. The service will offer a lower-priced alternative to numerical grading and encapsulation. CGC Cards’ on-site authentication and grading eliminates transit time between Fanatics Collect and CGC Cards, allowing collectors and dealers to get their cards on the market quicker.

“We want to give collectors the best possible experience, and we're delighted to partner with CGC Cards and have their team establish a full-time on-site operation with us in Oregon,” said Fanatics Collect CEO Nick Bell. “This partnership will enable our companies to provide the smoothest, most convenient, and quickest grading experience in the industry.”

The first-of-its-kind partnership is designed to provide collectors and dealers the quickest route from raw to graded cards, and to the market.

“Fanatics Collect is constantly innovating and improving the collector experiences of buying, selling, and now grading,” said Max Spiegel, president of the Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), which includes CGC Cards. “CGC Cards is honored to have been selected to provide its services on-location at Fanatics Collect.”

According to Fanatics Collect, the new service includes no submission minimums or maximums and you can skip the tedious paperwork, photography, titling, listing, payment chasing, and multiple sends traditionally associated with grading and selling cards. Fanatics Collect will manage payments and facilitate ownership transfers.
