The National delays decision about 2020 show until May 30
Regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, officials of the National Sports Collectors Convention will not be making a decision on this summer’s show until May 30, at which time they’ll decide whether to hold or cancel the event.
The National is scheduled for July 29 to Aug. 2 at the Atlantic City Convention Center, which is currently in use as a field hospital with 258 beds lined up in rows on the convention floor to treat non-coronavirus patients to help alleviate pressure on local hospitals.
Rick Giddings, owner of Gizmo's Sportscards who is on the NSCC board of directors, told SCD that NSCC president Etta Hersh wanted to give dealers an update and options.
They can take a skip year whether the show goes on or not, and get a total refund or apply it to next year’s show in Chicago, Giddings said, adding that dealers won’t lose their seniority by taking a skip year.
For questions, Giddings suggested calling Etta Hersh or John Broggi in the NSCC office at (732) 735-6683.
