There aren’t many sets or cards that get people more excited than the 1952 Topps set and the fabled No. 311 Mickey Mantle. Higgins and Scott is offering the ultimate 1952 Topps “Super Set” that features two of the Mantle cards. Bidding begins July 29.

Huggins and Scott’s fourth Masterpiece Auction of 2013 begins on July 29 with the bidding closing on Aug, 8. A number of the premium pieces will be on display at the Huggins and Scott booth at the National Convention – numbers 716-718.

This auction is headlined by the first ever offered 1952 Topps “Super Set” of (579) PSA graded cards with (29) uncataloged variations including (2) Mickey Mantle rookies (PSA 7 and PSA 6 (mc)).

Vintage card collectors will enjoy an abundance of pre and postwar rarities including professionally graded and raw examples of cards from a variety of designations, including a scarce 1910 Top Top Bread Barney Dreyfuss SGC 50; a 1915 Cracker Jack Joe Jackson (PSA 1); the highest graded 1921 Tip Top Lefty Grove pre-rookie card (SGC 30); complete sets of N43 Baseball Players, E95 Philadelphia Caramel (with SGC
60 Honus Wagner), W517s and more; a beautiful PM1 Ornate Frame Christy Mathewson; a wide variety of Goudey Ruths and Gehrigs and much more.

The postwar collection is substantial as well with an unusually large number of complete and near sets from 1948-1973; a tremendous Willie Mays oddball assortment with a Stahl-Meyer, a Briggs, a 1958 Hires Test, 1968 Plaks Checklist, a File Copy of a rare 1954 Willie Mays Comic Book and the highest graded examples of a 1958 Pac-Bell and 1961 7-11; and more. As always, Huggins and Scott will also present a plethora of wonderful “shoebox” collections (always a crowd favorite).
