Shohei Ohtani Gold Logoman card makes history with $11 million sale
It didn’t take long for the historic #1/1 Back to Back Shohei Ohtani Gold Logoman card to surface and make history.
Fanatics unveiled Back to Back Gold Logoman cards last week as part of the Topps Chrome Baseball set to honor the three MLB players who won major awards in 2024 and 2025: Ohtani (NL MVP), Aaron Judge (AL MVP) and Tarik Skubal (Cy Young).

The Ohtani card was pulled earlier this week by an anonymous collector at Boca Sports Cards in Boca Raton, Fla., and the collector promptly sold it to the Secure portfolio comprised of “Shark Tank's” Kevin O’Leary, Shyne and Paul Warshaw for a record $11 million, making it the third highest public sports card sale of all time.
The card trails only the 2007-08 Upper Deck Exquisite Collection Dual Logoman Auto of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, which sold for $12.9 million, and the 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle card (SGC 9.5), which sold for $12.6. O’Leary’s group also bought the Jordan/Kobe Logoman.
Topps unveiled a #1/1 Back to Back Dual Gold Logoman Autograph Relic insert card for each player with two of their Gold MLB Logoman patches inserted into the same card. Ohtani signed his card in English at the top and Kanji at the bottom. The first gold Logoman comes from Ohtani's two-homer game on the road on Sept. 7, 2025 and the second is from his home run at Dodger Stadium on April 12, 2026.
All Back to Back Gold Logoman cards in the set are redemption cards. The Gold MLB Logoman patch program was announced by the league and Topps in March 2025, with a patch to be worn at the top back collar of major award winners instead of the traditional red, white and blue patch.
Other big sales of MLB Gold Logoman cards on the secondary market include Ohtani’s 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball Gold MLB Logoman Auto 1/1, which sold for $3 million through Fanatics Collect in December; and the 2025 Topps Chrome Baseball Dual MLB Gold Logoman Autograph 1/1 card with both Ohtani and Judge, which sold for $2.16 million at Fanatics Collect in March.
