Topps launching Series 2 Baseball NFT Collection

Topps’ first MLB NFT Collection was so popular it sold out in just 96 minutes. Now the card company is turning its popular Series 2 Baseball set into an NFT collection.

Topps’ initial 2021 MLB Inception NFT Collection sold out in just 96 minutes when it launched on Sept. 9, with more than 22,000 unique buys participating in the record sale.

Collectors will now get another shot at collecting a Topps MLB NFT set as Topps announced Thursday the launch of its 2021 Topps Series 2 Baseball NFT Collection. Based on the sold-out 2021 Topps Series 2 Baseball physical product, the Series 2 Baseball NFT Collection includes thousands of unique NFTs in both classic and modern Topps designs featuring baseball's biggest names, upcoming stars and special moments of the 2021 season.

The new NFT collection will be available at 1 p.m. ET Oct. 4 on the ToppsNFTs.com.

“Our Topps MLB NFT products have created a fun, easy-to-use collecting experience for many who have collected NFTs before as well as those looking to make their first purchase,” said Tobin Lent, VP & Global General Manager of Topps Digital Sports & Entertainment at The Topps Company. “Series 2 Baseball provides a yearly snapshot of many of the twists and turns of an MLB Season and this release offers collectors a chance to collect those memorable moments in a unique new way.”

The digital collection will be Topps’ largest MLB NFT release and offer a digital twists to the physical Series 2 cards with facsimile signatures and additional NFT-exclusive designs. Standard and Premium Packs will be available, with card rarities ranging from Common to Legendary.

The hottest Inception NFTs trading in the secondary market are the 1 of 3 Legendary Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Letter Booklet and 1 of 23 Epic Juan Soto Red Rookie and Future Phenoms Facsimile Signature.
