Tom Brady ‘pre-retirement’ football sells for six figures at Lelands
The football Tom Brady threw for what was supposed to be his final touchdown pass didn’t quite reach the initial $500,000 mark, but it still sold for six figures in Lelands 2022 Summer Classic Auction.
The ball Brady tossed for his “final” touchdown pass in the NFC playoffs on Jan. 23, 2022 initially sold for $518,628 earlier this year at Lelands. The sale had to be voided, however, after Brady decided to unretire one day after the sale.
The “pre-retirement” ball hit the market again in Lelands Summer Auction and sold for $129,658.
Also highlighting the auction was the original artwork for Willie Mays’ 1953 Topps card, which sold for $246,968. The artwork of the “Say Hey Kid” used to create card #244 in the 1953 Topps was consigned by the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, with all proceeds dedicated to helping children receive the best medical care possible.
