Minnesota hosting next George Johnson collector show
Veteran Chicago-area show promoter George Johnson will be holding another Minneapolis Sports Collectible and Autograph Convention on the weekend of Dec. 17-19 at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minn.
Johnson, best know for shepherding the popular Sun-Times Show at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Ill., for many years, has added the Minneapolis market to his www.sportsnewsshows.com stable, tapping the hometown newspaper, StarTribune.com, as the official sponsor.
An autograph lineup sprinkled with Hall of Famers from baseball, football and hockey, plus a number of Minnesota area favorites will be featured all three days at a show that’s expected to host nearly 100 dealers from across the country. In addition, PSA/DNA will be providing on-site grading and authentication for cards and autographs.
Andre Dawson, 2010 Hall of Fame inductee, heads a group that includes fellow Baseball HOFers Jim Rice and Steve Carlton, Football HOFers Paul Hornung and Jan Stenerud, hockey HOFer Dino Ciccerelli, and Minnesota legends like Scott Erickson, Frank Quillici, Gary Gaetti, Tom Burnansky and Irv Cross.
