Fans can write to NFL players during camp

The free time spent by NFL players during summer training camp is usually reserved for taking naps or continually studying the playbook, but some players like to find other activities to get away from everything. One of those things to do would be to answer their fan mail that is sent to them during camp.

Even though NFL training camps are much shorter than baseball’s spring training, it is still possible to write a letter to them during camp. Be sure to send out the letter soon since most teams break camp somewhere around the middle of August. Some teams train at their team headquarters, so sending out a request soon is not as important as it is for the teams that practice away from their complex.

Listed below are the addresses for each team’s training camp where they will practice and train until mid-August. Be sure to address the envelope with the player’s name and team name so it can get to the requested person.

Brewers signers: We are still months away from the Major League Baseball playoffs, but one surprising team that hopes to be playing in October are the Milwaukee Brewers. Not many of the experts predicted a playoff appearance by the Brewers, but the young, exciting team has been one of baseball’s top stories this season.

Milwaukee has been leading the National League Central all season with its young roster of stars that are quickly becoming household names. Prince Fielder, who has followed in his father’s footsteps and has become a feared home run hitter, is the biggest name star on the Brewers. Fielder could lead the majors in home runs and he is just 23 years old and only in his second season in the big leagues.

Thankfully, his early age success has not gone straight to his head, because the rising star was a great signer when the Brewers came to Minneapolis in late June for an interleague series with the Twins. Fielder was signing whenever he was asked and was one of the best signers on the team. J.J. Hardy is another reason for Milwaukee’s team success so far this season. Hardy has come out of nowhere to be a major run-producing machine for the Brewers and is not far behind Fielder in the home run race. The shortstop was also very gracious with the Sharpie at both the team hotel and the stadium before games.

One difficult signer with the Brewers organization who does not compete on the field each night is broadcaster Bob Uecker. The Hall-of-Fame broadcaster, who is in his 37th season calling baseball games, can be very grumpy with collectors. He will not sign at the team hotel and getting him to sign at the stadium can be a very difficult task.

Besides Uecker, most of the Brewers were very open to signing, including young prospect Ryan Braun and longtime Brewer Geoff Jenkins. The other good signers included Dave Bush, Chris Capuano, bullpen coach Bill Castro, Francisco Cordero, Craig Counsell, Johnny Estrada, Tony Graffanino, Gabe Gross, pitching coach Mike Maddux, Damian Miller, Brian Shouse, Chris Spurling, Jeff Suppan, bench coach Dale Sveum, Derrick Turnbrow, Matt Wise and manager Ned Yost.
