Hope Solo, Marvin Hagler collections top Summer Auction at Lelands
The personal collections of two iconic U.S. athletes combined to sell for more than $600,000 in the Lelands Summer Classic Auction.
The collection of U.S. soccer icon Hope Solo sold for $258,932, while the personal collection of boxing Hall of Famer Marvin Hagler brought in $370,798.
The Solo Collection, consigned by the famed goalkeeper for the U.S. women’s soccer team, featured her match-worn, signed, photo-matched uniform from the 2015 Women’s World Cup Final ($40,743), her championship ring ($48,556), and her FIFA Golden Glove Award ($32,866) from that tournament.

Knockout items from Hagler's collection included two belts from his 1980 title victory over Alan Minter—the Ring Magazine Middleweight Championship belt ($73,170) and the WBA Middleweight Championship belt ($80,670). Hagler’s World Champion belt from his 1984 title defense against Mustafa Hamsho sold for $60,197, while fight-worn trunks photo-matched to multiple bouts between 1978-80 went for $77,503.
The auction also featured Lou Gehrig's original, signed 1933 Yankees player contract, which sold for $90,190, and a late-1930s Gehrig single-signed baseball for $92,050.
Other auction highlights included: a 1996 Flair Showcase Michael Jordan Legacy Collection Row 0 card ($75,729); the 2007 Preakness Stakes owner's trophy won by Curlin ($92,483); Shohei Ohtani's record-breaking 50/50-game-used second base ($73,812); and a Roberto Clemente 3,000th-hit full ticket ($48,815). Also notable were a Michael Jordan 1994 game-used bat ($41,700); a 1967 Roberto Clemente Sports Illustrated first-cover issue ($36,814); and a 1963 Sandy Koufax Sports Illustrated first-cover issue ($36,814).
Also of note were:
• An Oct. 29, 2003 LeBron James NBA debut full ticket (PSA 8): $24,323.
• A 1980 USA Olympics “Miracle on Ice” ring presented to Craig Patrick: $20,012.
• Michael Strahan photo-matched Giants signed game-worn jersey from Sep. 7, 1997: $16,064.
• Michael Jordan's personally owned 1989 Sports Illustrated August edition magazine with “Michael Jordan” on the address label; $13,148.
• Two Knicks World Championship banners from 1970 and 1973 from the team's Westchester practice facility: $9,692.
