The 1970s has been called the “Golden Age” of card collecting and was the perfect time for Topps editors to do what they do best – create new and distinctive baseball card products.

The 1975 Topps Mini set was one of those innovative ideas. Released on a test basis into select markets, savvy card dealers kept busy hand-sorting sets in order to fulfill a gushing collector demand. According to Topps Industry Specialist Mike Jaspersen “The 1975 Topps Mini set endures as one of the most popular and collectible Topps “Test” sets” of all time.”

Topps is proud to announce that it’s bringing back the novel idea once again in a very limited way for 2012. Available exclusively through ShopTopps.com, the 2012 Baseball Mini cards will launch on Aug. 1 and priced at $50 per box. The base set consists of 661 cards from Series 1 and 2.

You can expect one autograph or relic mini card per box with 31 different autograph subjects including some of the brightest young talent in the game from Bryce Harper and Yu Darvish to Mike Trout and Clayton Kershaw. There are also autographs from baseball legends like Al Kaline, Tony Gwynn, Stan Musial and Frank Robinson.

Among other features are 44 available relic cards and 50 exclusive Golden Moments inserts featuring active and retired players and a Golden Moment from their career. The stats: 24 packs per display box, 10 mini cards per pack and 24 boxes per case. Stocked at 2 ¼ X 3 1/8. They will be exclusively available through ShopTopps.com with free shipping.
