With Super Bowl XLI in the books, it is only fitting that Touchdown Treasures is hosting its 175-lot auction with memorabilia exclusively related to past NFL Championship contests.

Coming off its premier sale of December 2006, the Connecticut-based auction house has slated Super Bowl press pins, Championship press guides, Super Bowl tickets and other unique pieces that make up the auction, which will end on Feb. 9.

Owner Michael Hattley has been a football memorabilia enthusiast for more than 23 years, and is widely considered one of the hobby's top football experts. He acknowledged that football pieces seem to get more popular every year. According to Hattley, that growth, and the fact that collectors seem to prefer auction venues more than shows was the reason he started the auction.

The auction, that Hattley plans on having four to six times per year, is now live and can be viewed at Highlights include: 1982 Joe Montana Super Bowl XVI salesman sample ring, 1946 NFL Championship press pin (Bears vs. Giants), 1962 NFL Championship press pin (tie clasp) Packers vs. Giants, 1967 Super Bowl I press pin (tie clasp) Packers vs. Chiefs, 1974 Super Bowl VIII press pin (Dolphins vs. Vikings) and a 1967 Super Bowl I (Packers vs. Chiefs) pendant charm that Hattley said is very rare and one of only a couple he has ever seen.

Other keys from the auction include: 1/9/77 Super Bowl game-used football presented to the Raiders' Ted Kwalick, 1969 Super Bowl III Peter Max lunch box (Jets vs. Colts) and a 1969 Super Bowl III pewter ashtray that was only given to players and executives (Jets vs. Colts).

In addition to pin, pennant and program collectors, PSA Set Registry members may also want to take notice of the auction. Touchdown Treasures is also offering many PSA-graded fulls and stubs from past Super Bowls including: 1994 Super Bowl XXVIII full ticket graded PSA 9 (Cowboys vs. Bills), 1997 Super Bowl XXXI full ticket graded PSA 9 (Packers vs. Patriots), 1968 Super Bowl II stub graded PSA Authentic (Packers vs. Raiders), 1969 Super Bowl III stub graded PSA Authentic (Jets vs. Colts), 1978 Super Bowl XII ticket stub graded PSA Authentic (Cowboys vs. Broncos) and a 1986 Super Bowl XX ticket stub graded PSA Authentic (Bears vs. Patriots).

Hattley stressed that he is always looking for new consignors interested in selling vintage football items in his auction. Anyone who is interested in consigning to a future Touchdown Treasures auction or would like to receive an auction flyer can call 203-532-9214 or visit
