Everything from Kobe to Picasso in Universal Rarit

One thing we know about Universal Rarities auction house is that we can expect the unexpected. Its June 9 auction contains everything from sports memorabilia and autographs to historical and entertainment items to pretty ladies signing the covers of the magazines they were featured in.

The current auction is led by a Barry Bonds game-used 551st home run jersey (minimum bid $2,000), a Kobe Bryant 1999-00 NBA Finals game-used road jersey ($1,500); a John F. Kennedy single-signed baseball ($2,500); and a Beatles-signed Apple Corps, Ltd. document with John Lennon, Ringo Starr and George Harrison ($1,500).

Universal Rarities also has a vintage signed Bobby Jones photograph inscribed "For Audrey Baxter, with best wishes, Robt. T. Jones Jr." with a minimum bid of $2,500. There are also two PSA-graded Babe Ruth signed items, including a 1930 Yankees payroll check ($3,000) and a double-signed cancelled bank check ($2,500).

Other notable sports items include: 1940 National League All-Stars signed baseball ($500); Julio Cesar Chavez signed, fight-worn boxing robe ($250); 1956 Brooklyn Dodgers team-signed baseball ($400); Lou Gehrig 1930s game-used Hanna Batrite bat graded MEARS A3 ($2,500); Vladimir Guerrero signed game-used 299th home run bat ($750); Carson Palmer signed 2002 game-used USC jersey ($750); Cal Ripken Jr. signed 1995 game-used jersey from his record-breaking season ($1,000); and a Alex Rodriguez signed 2003 game-used home run jersey ($1,500).

As for entertainment items, along with the Beatles contract, there's Pierce Brosnan's prop pistol from "Tomorrow Never Dies" ($1,000), Bruce Lee's signed 1965 contract for "The Green Hornet" ($750) and even a "Gone with the Wind" original production script ($1,000).

Several Walt Disney signed pieces are also in this auction, including a triple-signed bank check ($500), a signed document regarding Disney stock from 1954 ($750) and a signed, framed letter display from 1938 ($750).

Other notable entertainment items include: Frank Sinatra's first movie contract from RKO Pictures in 1943 ($750); William Shatner's signed contract for "Star Trek: Season 3" ($750); Marilyn Monroe signed bank check ($500); "The Sopranos" cast-signed limited-edition art giclee ($1,000); John Wayne signed, framed letter display ($400); The Beatles group-signed matted display with all four members included ($1,500); and a Madonna-signed bank check ($300).

The historical figures lineup is led by an Albert Einstein signed bank check. The check dates from July 9, 1943, and is made out to Simon & Schuster for $1.56. It is sold as a part of a framed piece with three images of Einstein, including an original First Day Cover postcard from 1979. The minimum bid is $1,000.

Other top historical items include: a Princess Diana and Prince Charles dual-signed holiday card display ($700); John Wayne Gacy original "Pogo the Clown" oil painting ($400); Adolph Hitler hand-drawn and signed sketch circa 1907 ($2,500); Pablo Picasso double-signed photo with hand-drawn sketches ($500); Pope John Paul III signed Vatican photograph ($500); and a Norman Rockwell signed, framed display with original artwork ($750).

Finally, they've got plenty of signatures from pretty ladies, including Pamela Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Anna Kournikova, Brande Roderick, Julie McCullough, Carmen Electra, Tyra Banks, Elle MacPherson and Jenny McCarthy just to name a few.
