Sports Card Design Awards sponsored by Sports Collectors Digest
Ever think you could design a better-looking baseball card than what's already available? Well, here's your chance. Sports Collectors Digest presents the Sports Card Design Awards, where you can get your work displayed on the cover of SCD that reaches nearly 20,000 subscribers, plus win an assortment of quality autographed memorabilia from some of the greatest that have ever played.

PRIZES
Grand Prize Winner: For the Sports Card Design Awards, there will be a Grand Prize winner and four runners-up. The Grand Prize winner will be featured on the cover of Sports Collectors Digest’s 6th Annual Sports Art Issue. The overall winner will also be mentioned on the cover of Tuff Stuff's Sports Collectors Monthly. In addition to that, the Grand Prize winner will be featured inside the Sports Art issue of SCD and in the pages of Tuff Stuff's Sports Collectors Monthly.
Grand Prize and Runners-Up Winners: Along with being featured inside Sports Collectors Digest and Tuff Stuff's Sports Collectors Monthly, the finalists will be featured online for both magazine's websites.
They will also receive the following prize package:
- Alex Rodriguez signed Seattle Mariners mini helmet ($250 value)
- Lawrence Taylor signed New York Giants mini helmet ($200)
- Lou Boudreau 5-by-7 signed photo ($35)
- Catfish Hunter signed 5-by-7 ($35)

PROSPECTUS
ELIGIBILITY
The competition is open to artists anywhere in the world. We are looking for the front art of a sports card. The card design should be 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 but can be portrait or landscape. Both fine art and digital art methods are accepted.Only original artwork, conceived and created by the entrant, will be considered. Employees of F+W Media, Inc., and their immediate families, are not eligible. Sports Collectors Digest reserves the right to reject work deemed unsuitable for publication or that does not meet above criteria.
PREPARING YOUR ENTRY
All entries must be digital files. Image files cannot exceed 2MG. The file must be saved as a JPEG in RGB color mode (not CMYK). If your work is selected for the cover, we may contact you about sending a high-res replacement.
Fees and Payment: All entries are $20 per entry. There will be a $10 charge for all returned checks or declined credit cards. Credit cards will be charged within 90 days of contest deadline. Charges will appear as "F+W contests."
DEADLINE
Entries must be submitted online no later than July 1, 2009.
JUDGING
Entries will be prejudged and then finalists will be chosen by the magazine staff. Award winners will be chosen by web users. All properly prepared entries will be viewed and judged. The decision of the jurors is final.
NOTIFICATION
All winners will be notified by September 1, 2009. The results will not otherwise be made public until they are published in Sports Collectors Digest. Non-winning entrants will not be individually notified of the results. Your cancelled check or credit-card charge will be notification for receipt of your entry.
